Special C. news

The Special Consensus, the US band most welcomed to Ireland over the past twenty years, will celebrate forty years as a full-time touring and recording band in a special concert to be held on 24 October. In those forty years, the Special C. has had 41 regular members (not to mention many fine pickers who have stood in on occasion), and 24 of these will be taking part in the show. More details are on the band's news web page.

Bluegrass Today announces that Dustin Benson (second from right above) will be leaving the band two weeks after the concert - on 7 November. Dustin has been the Special C. guitarist for four-and-a-half years, including two tours in Ireland. Band founder and leader Greg Cahill is reported to have a replacement in mind.
