NT documentary - news on Bluegrass Today

A feature by Richard Thompson on Niall Toner appeared yesterday on Bluegrass Today, focused on the coming documentary on Niall's life in music that is being made by Dublin-based New Decade TV.

The documentary is planned for a full 70-minute length, aimed for showing on TV in Ireland, Britain, and the US, as well as at independent film and music festivals. New Decade's founder and director/producer Ciaran O’Connor is quoted as saying that it

... is something that myself and Niall have decided to embark upon together. I decided not to shoot down at the bluegrass festival [the BIB assumes this is the Omagh festival earlier this month] primarily because of resources and timings.

Instead, 'actual film work will begin with shooting at a gig at the Harbour Bar in Bray, Co. Wicklow'; though some may have been done, as announced earlier, on Saturday 12 Sept. during the NTB show at the Riverbank Arts Centre in Newbridge, Co. Kildare.

Niall is now about to travel to the States as compere and guide on the Topflight package tour of the bluegrass heartlands (26 Sept.-4 Oct.).
