John Dowling and Down & Outs in the Spectrum Centre, 3 Nov.

This certainly is a busy and rewarding few days for bluegrassers in Belfast. Thanks to Dangem Bluegrass for this poster from the Spectrum Centre, Shankhill Road, Belfast, where master banjo player and teacher John Dowling (UK) begins his Banjo Teaching Weekend (Scruggs style) tonight (Fri. 2 Nov.), 7.00 to 9.30 p.m.

The workshop resumes tomorrow morning at 10.00 a.m. and continues till 5.00 p.m. with breaks for coffee and lunch. The evening concert by John and the Down and Out Bluegrass Band (7.30-9.00 p.m.) is free to workshop attenders and only £5.00 to anyone else. See the BIB post of 26 Oct. for more details, and read the Dangem bulletin.

BIB editor's note: On the banjo in the poster, the one string visible - on the left side of the fingerboard - is a wound one. H'm - any banjo using a wound 5th string should be worth hearing...
