The Carrivick Sisters in Ireland, 2-18 Oct. 2009

The Carrivick Sisters (UK), will begin a tour of Ireland next week, arriving here on 2 Oct 2009. They have recently been touring in the UK with Jeff & Vida.

Between the two of them, Laura and Charlotte Carrivick play guitar, mandolin, banjo, dobro and fiddle, with vocal harmonies, and both write songs. In three years of performing together, they have played all over the UK, in Europe, and in Canada, and have released three CDs: My own two feet (2006), Better than 6 cakes (2007), and Jupiter’s corner (April 2009).

The first main show currently on their schedule for Ireland is the Ards International Guitar Festival at Newtownards, Co. Down (not 'Kerry', as erroneously shown on the schedule), on 4 October. Subsequent confirmed dates are:

6 Oct. Westport Arts Festival, Westport, Co. Mayo, 8.00 p.m.
13 Oct. The Old Oak, Cork city, 8.00 p.m.
15 Oct. The Stables, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, 8.00 p.m.
17 Oct. Breffni Arms, Cavan town, Co. Cavan, 8.00 p.m.
18 Oct. Dufferin Arms, Killyleagh, Co. Down, 8.00 p.m.
